for submissions is Wednesday,
November 22, 2017.
Your
photographs should be of firefighters, police
officers, veterans, active duty military, or
anyone action as a local
hero.
Photos must have
been taken after November 21,
2015.
Each photographer
can submit up to 5 photos. If you would
like to enter photos please email the club for
access to a drop folder.

The
holiday season is fast approaching and with it
come many opportunities to pitch in and take
some photos. The next few months whether
you like music, ghosts and goblins, 5Ks, cute
kids, crafts, or even snow we have an event for
you. If you're afraid we're all business
at events and you won't have fun I think the
picture with this message shows that isn't the
case. Come out and join us, take some
photos to share with us and the community, get
to know your fellow members better and most
importantly have fun doing something you like to
do.

Every
October we take nominations for our board
members and hold our election at the first
meeting in November. Nominations open
October first and remain open until the first
meeting in November. We are seeking
nominations for President, Vice-President,
Treasurer and Secretary. We have a two
year term limit for President and
Vice-President. The fifth board member is
the Past President which is not an elected
position. Please consider volunteering for
one of these positions. The current
officers are President - Susan, Vice-President -
Vallie, Treasurer - Becki, Secretary - Paula,
and Past President - Frederic and they will be
happy to answer your questions about their
duties.

We will be hosting a
booth at the Oviedo Farmer's Market the first
Saturday in November, so decide what you would
like to display.
Space is limited, so
we are asking members to submit no more than
three photographs. We are not able to
accommodate boxed prints. All photographs must
be mounted or framed and ready to hang.
As in prior
years, the photographs may be offered for sale
or simply displayed to "show off" your work.
Any photograph offered for sale must be
marked with a price and the member must be
present to handle the sale.
The Oviedo Farmer's
Market is held the first Saturday of each month
at the Lawton House. Setup begins at
7:30am. |

first order of business for our
first meeting in November will be
elections. Nominations are still open and
everyone is encouraged to nominate someone (ask
them first) or volunteer for a position.
We
are also asking everyone to bring us your best.
No, not your best photo. We're
looking for your best trick, hint, gadget or
idea. Do you have an accessory you can't
live without when taking photos? Do you
have a favorite location to go and shoot?
How about a shortcut in Lightroom,
Photoshop, Photos or Elements? Come and
share them with us. We will also have an
informal discussion on ideas for topics for
future meetings, places to go on field trips,
photo challenges, how to organize volunteers for
events, places to eat on Fifth Mondays and any
and all other suggestions about how we can make
our club even
better.

Call for Photos for
New Website |
A
new website is under development by the City of
Oviedo and they have asked the club to take photos
in Oviedo to feature in a slideshow on the home
page. Possible
subjects include city government buildings, city
parks, and other historic buildings and
structures. Photos
can be color or monochrome but they should not
have any HDR or photoshop "effects"
applied. Minor
exposure adjustments and minimal cropping will be
allowed. Only
current members of the Oviedo Photo Club may
submit images for consideration. More
detailed submission guidelines are available to
members. Published photos will be credited
to the Oviedo Photo
Club.

In
addition to selling photography equipment and
hobby supplies, they also
hold in-store photo classes,
including Basic Digital SLR Class and How To Use
Your Point & Shoot Camera. Classes are
being held Fridays and Saturdays. Call
them for
more information and to

Show your club spirit by adding our
club logo to your shirts, hats or bags.
You can order shirts and other items
in several
styles and colors from Atticus Printing or bring
in something you already have and they can
embroider the club logo on it for a small
fee.
